Our Management Team - Jeremy Shank
Jeremy began working with Joseph, his friend of nearly 30 years, as an advisor to McKey Contracting in
late 2002. With a vision for delivering the highest level of excellence in customer service and exterior
renovations, Jeremy moved from New York to Midlothian in May 2003 and assisted Joseph in the
formation of and transition to Paragon Construction Company LLC in July 2003.
Today, Jeremy manages the sales, marketing and financial segments of Paragon's business, and,
with Joseph, runs one of the most customer focused contracting companies in the metro-Richmond
area.
Prior to founding Paragon Construction, Jeremy was a Vice President in Merrill Lynch's debt capital
markets group at its world headquarters in New York. He worked with oil and gas and electric utilities
to structure and issue debt securities, capitalize on liability management opportunities, structure
derivative solutions to manage interest rate risk. Before joining the Debt Capital Markets group, he
worked as an associate and analyst in Merrill Lynch's Sports Finance Group and Public Finance Group,
respectively. Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, he worked in the Corporate Treasury department at
McDermott International, Inc., a former New Orleans, Louisiana-based oil and gas services company.
In 1995, Jeremy received his Bachelors in Science and Management with a major in finance from
Tulane University's A. B. Freeman School of Business in New Orleans, Louisiana.
"My interest in the residential renovations and construction business began when I worked on a crew in
junior high and high school for my Dad's company - a residential home builder. That experience,
combined with the entrepreneurial fire that was lit while I was at Merrill Lynch, my life-long friendship
with my business partner, Joseph, the enjoyment of working with people, and a love for the Richmond
area, resulted in the creation of Paragon Construction."
Jeremy, his wife and four children reside in Midlothian, Virginia.
